I think the acquisition is excellent for the community.

I think the acquisition is excellent for the community. Languages and frameworks need commercial supporters for growth: Java was backed by Oracle, Apple backs Swift, Google backs Go, Microsoft backs C#, Facebook backs React.

Nubank acquiring Cognitect sends positive signals to other companies that operate at Nubank’s scale. They mentioned that Rich, Alex and Stu will continue to work on Clojure. Rich will continue to be BDFL.

Acquisition will lead to more interest, which will lead to more blog posts, articles, youtube videos and books which is all good for the community. Infact, I started writing a book on Clojure for React Developers. I’m looking for beta readers, let me know if you’d like to review it.

Also, writing ClojureScript doesn’t mean you can avoid JavaScript. Sooner or later, you will have to interact with native JS. However, your experience for 90% of the tasks will be enhanced.
