Nubank announces hires to strengthen tech team

São Paulo, May 24, 2022 – Nubank, one of the world’s largest digital platforms of financial services, announces its most recent initiative to strengthen the software technology team. The company is bringing around fifteen North American engineers specialized in functional programming languages, such as Clojure and Datomic, to boost the Common Technology Platforms team.

Nubank has been fastly hiring software engineers to upkeep its hyper-growth in a sustainable way. Just this year, the company has already added 350 engineers to its operations in Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia. And it recently announced the second edition of Nós Codamos (We Code), the selection process exclusive to black professionals interested in working with software engineering in the corporation.

From Parkside Technologies

The international talents are coming from Parkside Technologies, a North American company that already uses the same functional programming languages as the digital bank and that will add to the 1.6 thousand software engineers of Nubank.

“The team’s arrival will help us leverage our services and support our growth in Latin America, and it reinforces our commitment to building teams with world-class professionals, the best global talents, to offer the best products and services to our 59.6 million customers,” states Matt Swann, Nubank’s CTO.

“The Parkside team is excited to join Nubank given our alignment of values, mission and tech stack”, said Barry Schneider, Parkside’s Founder.

This is the fourth recruitment operation by the company. In the past two years, Nubank has brought professionals from Cognitect – the software engineering company that created the Clojure and Datomic programming languages –, Juntos – a company focused on automated customer support –, and Plataformatec – a Brazilian consultancy focused on agile methodology and technology.
